Classes are designed with the younger artist in mind. Students work in a variety of mediums including pastel, watercolor, tempera paint, collage and marker. Lessons include the color wheel with warm & cool paintings, working in the style of a selected artist, cartooning, underwater scenes with collage & paint as well as a variety of other projects. Different themes each day and always something fun to do.

Classes are designed to meet the needs of beginner and intermediate students. Students work in a variety of mediums including charcoal, pastel, graphite, watercolor, and acrylics. We teach students the use of proper shape and proportion along with compositional skills. Students are encouraged to explore the use of color, style and individual expression. Students will learn how to compose and begin a painting, mix colors, use brushes and discover the creative and technical versatility of acrylic painting. This course includes experimentation with acrylic techniques as well as composition, color mixing and layering, color harmony, design and brush technique.

Together students will exchange creative ideas on how to free build with over 10,000 LEGO pieces. Students will draw LEGO figures that they create as a group. A fun camp for the LEGO enthusiast.

The class projects guide students toward developing drawing skills and visual perception while encouraging personal expression and creativity. Though many of the projects are guided, each student is encouraged to work with his or her own vision. Subject matter may include: animals, landscape, still life, the human form as well as various artists and art periods.

COST
$100.00 tuition + $10.00 material fee = $110.00
REGISTRATION
There is no registration fee*. A $35.00 deposit along with a completed application form is required to reserve your class. The balance of $75.00 is due no later than two weeks before the start of class. Or at your option, pay the total amount when registering. *Emmorton Rec requires a $15 registration fee for new students.
WHAT TO BRING AND WEAR
Pack a light snack and filled water bottle.
Bring an oversize T-shirt that easily fits over existing clothes.
CANCELLATION
If a class is canceled, parents will be notified at least 7 days prior to the first scheduled class. If you do not hear from New Freedom Art (NFA), your class will be running as scheduled. NFA reserves the right to make changes in programs, schedules, and instructors, and to cancel classes due to low enrollment.
100% of the deposit will be refunded if class is canceled.
STUDENT BEHAVIOR POLICY
NFA reserves the right to cancel or refuse the registration of a student in a class with no refund, if participation by the student is deemed disruptive or interferes with the learning atmosphere and enjoyment of the class.
